NCAA Football 2018 Attendance, Week 5: Disappointing Homecoming in Lawrence

We're into the swing of things here through week five, with plenty of good games on the slate. Even with that, average attendance was 26,365 for the week, a decrease of 1,828 over last week and the lowest attended week of the season thus far. Let's take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division I attendance: 1,243 - Presbyterian vs Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Hose hosted the Blue Raiders and everyone was too blue to go to the game. The NAIA level Blue Raiders played a tough matchup, losing to Presbyterian by a mere 10-0 score. Your prerequisite action shot: [tweet 1045525197938479104 align='center'] Worst overall FBS attendance: 9,367 - Ball State vs Kent State. It's hard to get fans out for Ball State football after a 1-3 start, even if they hung in there against Notre Dame in week two. With that, fewer than 10,000 were in the stands to see the Cardinals trounce Kent State by a score of 52-24. On top of all this, Ball State maintains the best hashtag in all of college football. #Chirpchirp, motherfuckers. The crowd:

Worst overall Power Five attendance: 18,364 - Kansas vs Oklahoma State. Despite going into this game with a 2-2 record, their best in a while, Jayhawks fans couldn't get excited to see Jayhawk football. Even worse? It was homecoming weekend! Only 18,364 made the journey back to campus to see KU put up a fight and hang 28 on Oklahoma State, who walked away with the 48-28 victory.
