College Football

Time again to take a look at NCAA Football attendance for the last week.  Average attendance was down to 26,767 this week, with a lot of high attendance programs on the bye. Let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division I attendance week 7: 946 – Valparaiso vs Marist.  49-15 Valpo With thunderstorms in the area, few wanted to see the STRONG AND PROUD MARIST FOXES come in to town, and for good reason. Valpo walked away with a 49-15 point lead in front of fewer than 1,000 fans, the first D1-hosted game this season to draw below four figures.  The […]

NCAA Football Attendance, 2017 Week 7: Smoky Skies and Thunderstorms

Let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division I attendance week 6: 1,532- Howard vs NC Central.  2-2 Howard hosted 3-1 NC Central in what ended up being a close game. Despite the mere 13-7 NC Central victory, the Bison of Howard were only able to attract 1,532 fans. Worst overall FBS attendance week 6: 10,584 – Charlotte vs Marshall.  As Charlotte continues its transition to FBS, it also […]

NCAA Football Attendance: 2017 Week Six!

Time again to take a look at NCAA Football attendance for the last week.  Average attendance was down to 25,514 this week, with a lot of high attendance programs on the bye. Let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division 1 attendance week 5: 1,456- Charleston Southern vs Miss Valley State.  With the 0-2 Delta Devils in town, there was little to motivate the Charleston Southern fans to show up, coupled with the third smallest stadium hosting a game this week. The matchup played out as expected as Charleston Southern dominated Mississippi Valley State 58-7. Worst overall FBS attendance week […]

NCAA Football 2017 Attendance, Week Five!

Time again to take a look at NCAA Football attendance for the last week.  Average attendance was down to 25,855 this week, but the bottom got higher across the board! Let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division 1 attendance week 4: 1,701- San Diego vs Butler.  Despite the fact that the Toreros won by a score of 38-17, only 1,701 fans showed up to one of San Diego’s only two football options after the Chargers left town to play in front of an empty 25,000 seat stadium.  Perhaps it was the good weather, the lack of draw in the […]

NCAA Football Attendance – 2017 Week 4!

Hey, it’s time to take a look at NCAA Football attendance for the last week.  The good news? Division I averaged 29,810 in attendance last week. The bad news? We lead off with an FCS team playing at an NAIA field, so you know there will be good stuff. We’re talking sub-1,000 fans in attendance. Woo.  Let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division 1 attendance week 3: 300- Trinity International vs Valparaiso on Saturday. Valpo traveled to Deerfield, IL to face the NAIA Trojans of Trinity International, whose field is famous in the turf circles, apparently.  It’s unknown why […]

NCAA Football Attendance: 2017 Season, Week 3!

Last year, we put together our first list of every FBS team and one statistic they led the nation in over the past season, and one statistic they were in last place in the nation over the past season. Well, we’re back this season, and boy do we have some doozies. A reminder from last year that nobody read and I’m fruitlessly posting again: if you are ranked first, it is the best in the category, so if it’s “Rushing First Downs,” best is highest. If it’s rushing yards conceded, best is lowest. Some of them get pretty esoteric (I’d […]

Best and Worst of the 2016 NCAA Football Season: Statistics ...

Conference championship week is our penultimate look at college football attendance this season, and with the ticket prices being fairly low for many of the big conference games, it’s no surprise that the American conference championship was outdrawn by the FCS-level SWAC Championship. But what other surprises are in store? Let’s take a look. Worst overall Division 1 attendance last week: 4,897 – Sam Houston State vs Chattanooga on Saturday. An FCS playoff game that drew fewer than 5,000 folks, this was a five point game that went to the home team. The driving rain on Saturday in the area was clearly […]

NCAA Championship Week Attendance: SWAC > Sun Belt!

Another of our weekly looks at NCAA Football Division I attendance this week. So let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division 1 attendance last week: 1,111 – New Mexico State vs Appalachian State on Saturday. Filling out a meager 3.4% of Aggie Memorial Stadium’s capacity, only a handful of people got to see Appalachian State clinch a share of their first Sun Belt title ever.  The NMSU website reported 5,600+ paid attendance, but other sources had the number at 1,111.  Here’s a crowd shot, we’ll let you decide: Worst overall FCS attendance last week: 1,267 – Savannah State vs Morgan State. No […]

Week 13 College Football Attendance – FCS Outdraws NM State

Another of our weekly looks at NCAA Football Division I attendance this week. So let’s take a look, shall we? Worst overall Division 1 attendance last week: 1,056 – Howard vs Delaware State on Saturday. Filling out just 15% of the 7,000 seat stadium’s capacity, the Bison of Howard put the final nail in Delaware State 0-11 season with a 26-21 victory. Worst overall FBS attendance last week: 5,834 – FAU  vs Old Dominion. With only 5,800 fans showing up to see the Owls take on the Monarchs, there was plenty of room to spread out in the boringly named FAU Stadium.  An action […]

Week 12 AMSTS College Football Computer Rankings Are Out!

Really, guys?  Everyone is getting hyped about the prospect of Les Miles going to Purdue, after reports emerged that he is on the short list.  Very hyped. Essentially, everyone has completely lost their minds and forgotten that Purdue is not a destination program. Rutgers has a better shot at landing Miles than Purdue does, if you ask me. SEC coaches don’t go to Big Ten bottom feeders. Everyone is sitting here thinking we are an 8/10 football program while we are a 3 on a good day.   Hell, I’m not even sure I want him. Ever seen him run […]

Stop It: Purdue Is Not Hiring Les Miles
